This blog will show my progress in this wonderful world of 3D graphics and my personal proyects.

Dear visitor;
In the last update I realised that I forgot something very important for the bike, its side stand. Well, the design of the side stand of the bike is quite ugly in my opinion, its shape is like an "H" and it makes the bike to be straight and I don't like the way it looks at all.
I like the custom bikes side stands design instead, the bike banks a bit and it's visually pleasant and looks so cool that way. So I tried to implement that in my design as well as the rig, here is a video showing that thing:

Hi there everybody;
In the last post I showed you how the front light was taking shape, but, to be fair, I didn't like it so much, so I've spent some time redisegning it.
I've spent also some time tweaking and improving the anisotropic shader applied to metal parts so it has more dirt in indented areas as happens in real world metals.

Dear visitor:
This is what I've been doing the last couple of weeks.
The head light is not the most beautiful part of the bike, but I tried several designs and none of them satisfied me, so this is the final (hopefully) design and how it looks when rendered:
I've been also texturing the control panel with that incredibly high number of dials and buttons..., all of them had to have sense, so this is my attemp:
And last but not least, I've finished the seat. At first, I planned to give it a leather finish, but the other day I saw a motorbike with this kind of skin on its seat and I liked it because it looked more actual or futuristic (the bike was also futuristic I must say), so I changed my mind and tried the following (I hope it look as good as I wanted it to be):

Dear visitor:
Now I’m texturing the mechanical parts, more focused on the motor part, I want to finish it as good as I can and go to the next and hopefully more interesting parts of the bike.
No much more to say, I don’t have much time so my updates are slower than I’d wanted them to be.

Dear visitor;
As I finished the Kaneda bike modeling and rigging phase, I just wanted to jump to the next phase, this is, the texturing phase. But I haven't got much time to work on it so I worked step by step and now I have something to show you guys.
Next image doesn't show anything fancy but it illustrates what I'm trying to do and what kind of materials I'm doing:
That's all for now.
Stay tunned, because, as you can see, my updates spreads in time but I'm on the road ;)

Dear visitor:
It has been a long time since my last update, but I thought it would be best for all to relax and give me some time to finished the model and rig for the bike.
So here it is, the very last update for the modelling and rigging stage, please open your eyes wide because here you have the Kaneda bike model FINISHED.
Yeah, you read right, it is now time to go to the next level, the texturing, lighting and rendering stage.
So, please, be very patient and see what I got here for you, I hope you've enjoyed this long (very long) experience and let me say that, in case you have any quesiton about how the rig was done or anything you want, please don't hesitate in write a comment and I'll be pleased to answer.

Dear visitor:
I know it's been a long time since the last update, but, you know, now that I've found the best girl in the world I don't have time for anything else, including 3D.
Well, the job I was doing months ago wasn't spectacular enough for me to post it as an update, because it was merely a "tweak and fix that surface" job, so, nothing to show really.
But now I've been designing the control panel of the bike, I had to do some research and find the better way not to break the overall design and make things join eachother without any visual impact.
Anyway, this is how it looks:
I've also model the front light, it doesn't look super futuristic, but, the glass will refract and distort everything behind it, so it doesn't matter that much.
So here it is:
I've also record the way the aperture mechanism looks like now, I think it is more robust and solid, so it looks more like the real one.
Check it out:
So that's all for now, please come back anytime to see more updates (hopefully).

Dear visitors:
It's been a long time since the last update, I hope to increase my updates ratio in the future, excuse me for the moment.
Well, I've done the seat, it may appear pretty simple, but I'm planning to detail it in ZBrush, my goal is to make it as real as possible. Here it is:
And, as a visitor suggested, I've made a video that shows how the bike moves and open its front part, see here:
No olvidéis comentar ;)

I've been busy these days with lots of work and a little illness that doesn't want to leave me away...
Well, now I give you the sidelights and the sidemirrors of the bike. Doesn't look specially good for now, but they will look better when textured, trust me.
¡Seguid atentos! :)

Dear visitor:
Not much updates this week, that's because I'm now modelling the least glamurous part of the bike..., the mechanical part of the rear part. It's not always visible from every point of view..., but I said I'd model the bike perfectly and I'll do so, even if it's not visible.
So here it is..., certenly, not the most beautiful part of the bike, but, what the heck:

Dear visitors:
After two years of spare work on this car, I've decided to finish it.
The "Lexus 2054" is featured in the movie "Minority Report" by Steven Spielberg.
The scene recreated comes when Tom Cruise is pursuit by Precrime's agents because they think he will kill some guy. Tom arrives to a car ensambling facility where the Lexus 2054 gets ensambled. He got trapped inside of one Lexus and, as everyone thinks, killed by the ensambling machines.
But in that scene, when the car is being painted, Tom shows he is alive and scape from the agents with the car.
I liked the car perfectly finished and painted, so I recreated the end of the scene with the almost same camera view.
So this is the final render (click on the image for larger resolution):
-ENGLISH-
Dear frieds:
I've been working a lot on the bike this Xmas time (although my job takes so much time also), and it seems that the bike exterior is taking shape, the shape that everybody knows at least.
Starting this bike from the inside part, the mechanical part, makes a lot of fun to me, but is quite boring for you, dear visitor, because you expect to see the bike you know, the red bike from the Akira film..., well, stop waiting my friend.
Having quite of finishing the inner part of the bike, let's see how the outer part, or the beauty part looks like, this is the front part:
¡Seguid atentos!.

Dear friends:
I thought Xmas time would be a spare time, but I never thought I'd be doing less than this...
Well, I've been finishing the steering system. I must clarify what I mean when I say "finishing", obviously, I'm not ending the steering system now, I'm only making things look good and I'll finish the pieze when I think it definetly looks good. May my explanation is somewhat confusing, but don't blame on me for this please.
So the steering system looks like this:
I've also staring to shape the body of the bike, the left side is where the gas entrance will be, and looks like this:
-ENGLISH-
Dear friends:
I've been experimenting some issues with my cable conection, but now I'm on the road again.
I'm now designing the steering controls, they are dificult to design since the maquettes I own don't hace that controls or are poorly detailed, I think it's because of its relative size (in the maquette). Now I'm thinking about the brakes controls..., they look too "retro" for this kind of futuristic motorbike..., so I think I'm not going to model them..., this is what I got for now:
Stay tunned!, and leave a message whenever you can! :D

Dear friends:
I'm now in the way to finish the aperture system design of the driving part.
It's driving me crazy because I'm mixing two maquette design and some ideas from the last Akira comic (it comes with some cool designs for laserdisc covers and such of things), so this is my progress:
And this is the way the aperture system works:
Someone asked in an old post about the software I use to model the bike..., well, I use MAYA since I think it's the most professional software in the market by now. Another person asked me about the tools I use to model..., I choose the right tool for the right task..., NURBS or polygons, it doesn't matter if they let me do what I want.
